The Dead Zone, a Stephen King adaptation, features a political candidate named Greg Stillson (Martin Sheen) with chilling similarities to the current white house occupant.

With classic populist tactics, Stillson wears a hard hat and does pushups on stage in an obsequious appeal to “working class” voters. Meanwhile, Christopher Walken’s character has developed precognitive abilities following a car accident. He accidentally gets a vision of Stillson’s trajectory and, this being a Stephen King story, it’s a bad one. I’ll stop there so as not to spoil.
