See “cult classics and obscure gems” every Monday at 7:30 PM in Plymouth, MN at Emagine Willow Creek.
March 3: Pet Sematary (1989). The original classic that fcked up a generation. Generation Me, anyway. Based on the novel that Stephen King once considered his scariest book.

March 10: Lure (2015). Polish film about killer mermaids. More details to follow.
March 17: Near Dark (1987). Gory, leather-clad vampire picture written and directed by Kathryn Bigelow (Hurt Locker), starring horror greats Bill Paxton and Lance Henriksen.
March 24: Tigers Are Not Afraid (2017). Directed by Issa López, creator of the original 2014 True Detective, this “dark fairy tale” is set against the violent backdrop of cartel drug wars, which apparently left Mexico rotten with ghosts.
March 31: The Velvet Vampire (1971). These screenings are the most fun for me to attend: ’70s/’80s exploitation fare, in this case directed by Roger Corman mentor Stephanie Rothman, and featuring the time-tested “sexy couple visit secluded vampire estate” trope.
