Trauma: Well it’s Dario Argento, so there’s that, and some of it’s shot in this little suburb five minutes from my house outside of Minneapolis, (Hopkins) which was almost as bizarre to discover as some of his choices in this film.

Highlight: Piper Laurie repeats “Nicholas! Nicholas! Nicholas!” in time to the thumping of her own severed head as it rolls across the floor.

Later, Brad Dourif’s decapitated head makes an expression of surprise, plunging toward the camera as it falls down an elevator shaft…

…and of all the things you don’t want to know happened in your hotel room, a nurse’s head muttering about an evil secret in an apron of spilled blood would probably be tops.
